Testers with SQL Scripting experience

Positions: Software Tester

Skills and Experiences desired:

·         Strong SQL scripting knowledge in addition to the regular QA skills.

·         Contribute to the entire software development life cycle from initial business requirements to deployment & production support

·         Design and develop formal test specifications and test scripts through the analysis of project and development specifications to improve the quality of the development process

·         Design & implement test scenarios Test  Cases and Test Data

·         Good understanding of the defect management process and ability to interact with the developers and users to resolve defects.

·         Ability to create, maintain & implement test plans  based on System Requirement Specifications

·         Expertise in Test Automation Tools such as QTP, Load Runner and Win Runner

·         Perform Functional Testing, Black Box Testing, integration testing, ad hoc testing, negative testing and regression testing.

·         Ensure QoS (Quality of Service) levels of software products through performance test benchmarking

·         Provide production support of software products by investigating and recreating reported defects

·         Work with multiple database interfaces and be familiar with standard web architectures

·         Assist in implementation of QA standards and continual improvement activities

·         Ability to create Test Summary Reports

Required:

Education and Experience

·         B.Tech. in  Electronics Engineering or Computer Science or BCA/MCA Computer Science

·         3+ years

·         Practical working knowledge of software testing methodology

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Exceptional analytic and problem solving skills

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

·         Experience with inter-enterprise supply-chain management software

·         Experience in designing and implementing test plans,  test scenarios, test cases and test scripts

·         Experience in working with an off shore development and testing team

·         Report, test and maintain defects

Technical Skills Recommended

·         Knowledge of Business Intelligence is a big plus

·         Exposure or working knowledge in Cognos desired

·         Testing experience with IE ,  and Mozilla

·         Ability to use configuration management, defect tracking and version management tools such as CVS, Bugzilla, Tortoise  SVN

·         Ability to use Document Management Systems such as Live link and Documentum
